Next, let the coffee maker sit and cool down for about fifteen minutes while it is turned off.

Lastly, you should rinse the coffee pot. You should repeat all the steps a second time running cold water through the filter. This process will make sure all the water and the vinegar that you used is completely out of the machine. If you do not feel like running it through again, just smell the pot to see if there is vinegar and if there is no smell, then you will not need to repeat the steps a second time around.
